Update

I don't know where all the time went.  Last post I had just watched the super bowl on TV.  Now it is middle of April.  So I guess I will try to let you all know what has been going on.  February just flew by.  We took a 2 day trip to Boonville Mo ( about 200 miles east in the next state.)  Didn't do much visited friends.  Went and took a few pictures around the area and Friday evening we went to the Isle of Capri (a riverboat casino) and had their seafood buffet for supper and checked the casino out.  No luck just a relaxing evening.  Drove home that Sunday into a snow storm.  Highway was not bad but the city streets were once we got off the highway.

Then later that week on Thursday the 25th of Feb Don woke up not feeling good and running a fever.  So we called the Dr and they said they could not get him in (not the regular nurse for our Dr) so instead of the minor med clinic we to him strait to the ER.  Good thing we did as he had sever asparation pneumonia.  He ended up in critical care for 3 days on a breathing machine.  Then a week in the medical unit doing testing to find out why the pneumonia.  Turns out he was not swallowing properly and was asparating food into his lungs.  They put a tube into his intestine and he is now getting tube feeding at night.  Once they got that worked out and he started feeling better they transferred him to the rehab unit at St Francis medical center.  He spent 10 days there getting started on his rehab then was released to come home on March 17.  Since then he has been doing rehab every day.  Physical therapy on Monday, Wed and Friday.  He finished that part this past Friday.  Starting when he was in the rehab unit they started a therapy to see if he could get back to swallowing properly.  They are doing a technic called vital stem.  They hook up electrodes to his throat a stimulate the muscles to strengthen them and get the swallow to working the way it is supposed to.  He is doing this 45 minutes a day 5 days a week.  It is working but very slowly.  He is keeping at it because he wants to eat again and get rid of the feeding tube.

So that is what went on the last few months.  I am now just starting to get back to some stitching.  I had my other carpel tunnel surgery in December and since it was my right hand it seemed to take longer to get back into the swing of things.

I will try to post more often.  And have a great day everyone.
